Hey Christina!

NICE TO MEET YOU.

Yes, we’ve created this page for you and you alone because we would love to work with Wingstop! And we know and love the restaurant business with our extensive experience in food and retail. Especially wings, beer and sports with our BWW experience. That said, we have created some work and gathered some insights into the industry you might find intriguing enough to continue a conversation with us. At least that’s our hope. Happy reading!

INITIAL FINDINGS

KEY INSIGHTS

•2020 has turned the world upside down causing dramatic changes in everyday life. For example, since the start of the pandemic, consumers have shifted 40% of spending, on average, to different priorities; 76% anticipated to continue doing so for the next six months. (Source: American Express).
•One sector that has been particularly hard is restaurants and losses from the pandemic are estimated to be $240 billion dollars in 2020 alone. (Source: National Restaurant Association).
•Losses have been greatest among full-service and independent restaurants as consumers shift to carry-out, drive-thru and delivery. (Source: NPD Group)
•However, Americans are yearning to socialize and be entertained, so returning to their in- restaurant is a top priority when things get back to normal. (Source: FSR Magazine).

Dining at a favorite restaurant is one of the most anticipated aspects of the return to normalcy, because restaurants are where many of life’s most enjoyable moments happen, or as one food critic called them “sanctuaries of joy.”

There is a currently a pent-up demand for experiences like:

•Enjoying a unique ambience and novel flavors
•Reconnecting with friends / family
•Parties and celebrations
•Creating memories and traditions

Is there an opportunity here?

Although the future is unpredictable, the opportunity now is for restaurants to position themselves as that favorite restaurant diners can’t wait to return to.
